About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician Class B to join our team at Performance Foodservice. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and overhauling medium to heavy-duty diesel equipment.
Your primary responsibilities will include performing preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment. You will also ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed as 'roadworthy'.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventative maintenance of medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and convertor dollies
- Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed as 'roadworthy'
- Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery requiring the use of hand tools and power tools
- Train/provide guidance to other Mechanics
