We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Helper to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a Diesel Mechanic Helper, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of company vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing regular scheduled tractor inspections, complete checklists, troubleshoot and make routine repairs as required
- Perform major repair work to tractors and trailers, disassemble, remove, repair or replace defective parts or components
- Operate electric arc welding equipment to repair ramps, ladders and tripods, repair or construct new cargo bars
- Assist on road service trips, maintain required logs, records, checklists and reports
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience 6-12 months interpret data requiring advanced skills knowledge equivalent to 6-12 months training in truck/automotive maintenance
- Wide variety of drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of meters and diagnostic equipment
