Job Description:
Oversees and provides guidance to the inventory crew under direction of manager/supervisor. Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of material, property, equipment, merchandise, or supplies. Counts material, property, equipment, merchandise, or supplies and posts totals to inventory/property records. Verifies record computations against physical count of inventory and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies. Responsible for checking in Delivery Drivers, inspecting all returning trailers, verifying returned goods and damaged products and re-entering goods into inventory. Handles all matters relating to inventory control, checking quality of designated product, taking daily inventory on produce and product spoiled. Answers questions and solves inventory control issues based on extensive inventory control and company specific knowledge. May assist with training. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.Perform assigned duties efficiently to reduce spoilage and positively contribute to profit margin.
Check quality of produce and ensure poor quality product is removed before any customer purchases.
Maintain appropriate inventory level on a daily basis.
Sort through pallets for bad product.
Repack produce in a timely and efficient manner to reduce spoilage and lost inventory.
Provide oversight, direction and input on work performed by associates in assigned area.
Provide backup support to management.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualification:
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience:1 – 3 years in accounting, inventory accounting admin support or related area.
