What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Supervisor position at Performance Foodservice?

The Sanitation Supervisor has oversight of the plant's sanitation team and is tasked with continuous improvement over sanitation practices and procedures. Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the premises of the company facilities in a clean and orderly condition by observing all safety regulations and ensuring all quality standards are met. Includes maintaining cleanliness of warehouse and production areas. May include cleaning office areas and cleaning/sanitizing meat processing areas. May assist in Sanitation training. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duties assigned to best serve the company.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing sanitation verification on equipment and other areas.
Responsible for the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and documentation.
Perform pre-operational inspections on products, equipment and machinery.
Oversee the sanitation team to improve practices and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Review work schedule, perform safety check on equipment, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations. Coordinate sanitation work for assigned area. Assist in sanitation training. Relieve sanitation personnel for breaks.
Prepare machinery for cleaning, remove materials from the machines, tools and floors and place in the proper containers. Remove barrels, totes and other containers from the area, close valves, open doors, lids, drains and water valves. Breakdown, disassemble and / or loosen nuts, screws, remove machine parts, guardrails, lids, doors and guards. Scrape material from the machine parts, shovel excess into totes and soak parts as needed. Remove tubs of meat scrap with dolly to the trash dock as required.
Obtain and apply the appropriate cleaning and sanitizing solution, apply foam to the surfaces, scrub surfaces and parts. Use the high-pressure hoses to clean and rinse the machine and parts, squeegee the floors and clear the floor drains.
Dry tools, equipment, machines, walls, floors and re-assemble machinery as required.
Maintain and abide by USDA regulations and standards as required.
QualificationsHigh School Diploma Or Equivalent
Required Experience: 1 - 2 years experience in sanitation within a warehouse and/or production environment
