Fleet Maintenance Position Overview
We're seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic Helper to join our maintenance crew at Performance Foodservice.
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Troubleshooting and repairing various company vehicles and refrigeration equipment.
- Performing regular inspections and maintaining safety standards.
- Assisting in preventative maintenance duties and emergency situations.
Our ideal candidate possesses excellent problem-solving skills and is able to interpret data requiring advanced knowledge equivalent to 6-12 months training in truck/automotive maintenance.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Review work schedule, perform safety checks on equipment, and obtain supplies required to perform the work.
- Assist in performing regular scheduled tractor inspections, complete checklists, troubleshoot, and make routine repairs as required.
- Perform major repair work to tractors and trailers, disassemble, remove, repair or replace defective parts or components of gas or diesel engines, transmissions, steering mechanisms, ignition, electrical and hydraulic systems, air conditioning, refrigeration controls and units, clutches, brakes, and mechanical or electrical operating units.
