Key Responsibilities
Safety and Compliance: Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checks on tires, brakes, and lighting, to ensure safe operation. Adhere to Department of Transportation regulations and Company policies regarding hours of service, logbooks, and other safety protocols.
Delivery Operations: Drive to and deliver customer orders according to assigned schedules, unload products from the vehicle, and transport items into designated customer storage areas. Verify delivery of items with customers, obtain signatures, and collect payments as required.
Loading and Unloading: Inspect the vehicle to ensure it is properly loaded and secured with freight. Conduct damage control checks on items and report any issues to supervisors. Load customer returns onto trailers and secure trailer doors.
Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the vehicle is locked and secured at all times, and perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
