Position Overview
We are looking for a dependable Local Driver to join our team in Seymour, WI. This role primarily involves drop-and-hook trailer operations, but drivers must also be willing to operate flatbeds, walking floors, and crib trailers as needed. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle, including flatbeds, walking floors, crib trailers, and standard trailers, in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform drop-and-hook operations at designated locations while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
- Load, secure, and unload freight when required, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle readiness and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate records, including delivery logs, inspection checklists, and time sheets.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues.
- Be adaptable to various trailer types and delivery assignments based on operational needs.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with endorsements suitable for the role (e.g., flatbeds).
- Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents in the last 3 years.
- Previous experience operating flatbeds, walking floors, and crib trailers (preferred but not mandatorytraining available).
- Ability to manage physical tasks, such as securing loads and climbing in and out of vehicles.
- Strong time management skills and flexibility with shift durations (approx. 10-hour days).
- Positive attitude and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
