Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials within designated routes while ensuring timely and safe deliveries. This role requires excellent driving skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to handle heavy (up to 50 pounds) lifting.
Duties
- Operate company vehicles to deliver products to various locations within the local area.
- Perform route driving efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload goods, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any inquiries or concerns.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and logs as required.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist in moving items as needed, demonstrating strong manual handling skills.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Punctuality.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with clients.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely (up to 50 pounds).
- Familiarity with route planning and navigation tools is advantageous.
