Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our construction team as a Janitorial Day Porter / General Laborer. This hybrid role involves performing both janitorial duties and general labor tasks on construction sites. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team to ensure the site remains clean, safe, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
Janitorial Day Porter Duties
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks around the construction site.
Dispose of trash and remove debris from work areas to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Maintain restrooms, break areas, and common areas by cleaning and restocking supplies as needed.
Set up and maintain site signage and barriers to ensure proper safety and navigation.
Assist with cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
General Laborer Duties
Assist with various manual labor tasks on the construction site, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment.
Operate an ATV for transporting materials and performing tasks around the site.
Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel toe boots.
Assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers as required.
Perform other general labor duties as assigned by the site supervisor.
Qualifications
Previous experience in janitorial work, general labor, or construction is preferred but not required.
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate an ATV.
Steel toe boots and other required PPE must be worn on site.
Working Conditions
Must be able to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, and construction sites.
Exposure to construction materials, equipment, and hazardous conditions.
Must adhere to safety protocols and always wear appropriate PPE.
