The 3PL Operations Manager is responsible for all sales and operations activities as well as the full P&L for the 3PL division. The person in this position is required to work autonomously to drive growth and increased revenue for the newly developing 3PL division. Berger Logistics is looking for a candidate that can build a solid foundation to lead to a productive future.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Forecast, set, and present growth goals quarterly based on gross and net revenue projections.
- Grow the brokerage business by building customer relationships and ensuring the customer needs are met.
- Develop and expand the customer database by obtaining contacts for sales to follow up with.
- Effectively manage relationships with customers by holding business review meetings and identifying customer needs and trends.
- Manage and report on all key metrics associated with the brokerage division P&L.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure effective operations of brokerage activities.
- Focus on sales aspects to drive growth in new areas to new customers.
- Negotiate contracts and set rates for freight services.
- Create and support a positive work environment by observing and coaching employees.
- Manage the relationships with carriers including escalated operational issues.
- Effectively manage relationships at a higher level with outside carriers, customers, and Berger Logistics Account Managers.
- Manage and train employees while setting the example in your commitment to a strong culture.
- Identifying, containing, and resolving issues relating to execution of load deliveries.
- Clear communication of service expectations to all employees and clients.
- Responsible for maintaining the company’s top value of safety.
- Complete any other tasks or duties as assigned.
