What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Suppression Technician position at Performance Systems Integration?
We are looking for a Fire Suppression Technician to join our team in Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate has 2 years of experience in the fire protection industry and a familiarity with Ansul, Amerex, Kidde, and CaptiveAire systems. Training is available for otherwise qualified candidates.
This is a full-time non-exempt position reporting to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM with occasional overtime.
Essential Job Functions:
· Performing the inspection, maintenance, and installation of kitchen fire suppression systems for commercial businesses throughout the Greater Seattle area and Western Washington;
· Thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer, and local fire codes for fire suppression systems;
· Performing on-site emergency troubleshooting of fire suppression systems;
· Working with General Manager, Account Managers, and dispatcher to fulfill jobs as scheduled;
· Communicate with customers in a professional manner reflective of company values;
· Complete timely reports via ServiceTrade, Building Reports, and corresponding AHJ;
· Drive company vehicle to and from jobsites and adhere to company Fleet Safety protocols;
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
· Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
· 2 years’ experience in the Fire Protection industry;
· ICC Kitchen Systems certification and City of Seattle E-4 certification;
· Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check;
· Knowledge of fire and building codes, OSHA, and other regulations pertaining to job;
· Excellent communication and customer service skills;
· Mechanical aptitude;
· Must have a phone with a data plan and ability to download mobile applications (monthly phone reimbursement provided).
Physical Requirements
This position requires physical exertion to complete the essential job functions:
· Mechanical aptitude and basic hand tool knowledge;
· Regular lifting of 50 pounds;
· Regular climbing of ladders and stairs;
· Presence in confined spaces;
· Occasional or regular sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, stretching, and walking;
· Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
