What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Instructor position at Performer's Edge Dance Center?
Performer’s Edge Dance Center located in Davenport Florida is currently looking for dedicated and experienced dance instructors who want to share their love of dance with children and adults for our Summer 2025 (Classes June & July) and 2025/2026 dance season beginning in mid August. Performer’s Edge Dance Center is an established studio that is located in a 10,000 sq ft. state of the art facility with 5 dance rooms and music room teaching both recreational and competitive students for over 22 years in all areas of dance.
Job Description:
- We are looking for highly qualified dance instructors to join our staff for the following classes: Preschool aged classes, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Technique, Creative Movement, Combo, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Lyrical and more- if you teach a style not listed here, let us know! We are always looking for new offerings.
- We are looking for instructors at both the recreational and competitive level of classes and choreography.
- Available after 4pm weekdays. Saturday morning availability a plus.
- May be asked to help with occasional admin work
Qualifications:
- 2 years of dance instruction and choreography in a studio setting with 5 years of dance training preferred
- BFA or BA in Dance preferred
- Good with children of all ages, including toddlers and teens
- Willing to teach dancers of all ages and abilities including beginners through advanced
- 2 years of dance instruction and choreography in a studio setting
- Easy going, fun personality willing to work in a team atmosphere with a large staff
- Willing to collaborate and take direction on class structure and curriculum
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
