The main purpose of PERI’s Human Resource Specialist (HRSPL) – Payroll and Benefits position is to ensure accurate and timely administration of payroll and employee benefits programs. The Human Resource Specialist (HRSPL) – Payroll and Benefits does this by processing payroll, maintaining compliance with payroll regulations, and managing employee benefits. Leveraging PERI’s resources, the Human Resource Specialist (HRSPL) – Payroll and Benefits provides support to employees regarding payroll and benefits-related inquires, ensuring that all processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with company policies and legal requirements. Additionally, the Human Resource Specialist (HRSPL) – Payroll and Benefits plays a key role in continuously improving payroll and benefits processes to enhance employee satisfaction and operational efficiency.

What you’ll do in a typical day:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accurate compensation, deductions, and compliance with tax regulations.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks while staying up to date payroll, benefits, and labor law changes to ensure compliance and optimize program offerings.
- Ensure payroll and benefits compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Run reports, conduct audits, and review timesheets, commissions, bonuses, and other payroll- and benefits-related items to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist new hires and employees in understanding available benefits options and guide them through the selection process.
- Maintain and update benefits enrollment records while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA).
- Keep accurate and confidential employee records related to payroll, benefits, and deductions.
- Input and update employee data in HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address employee needs and meet organizational goals while actively participating in HR projects and initiatives to enhance employee experience and operational efficiency
