Perimeter Behavioral of Forrest City offers residential services to adolescents ages 12 to 17 years of age. Our mission is help transform lives and provide hope.
The responsibilities for the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) includes the following:
Assess new residents for appropriate level of activities.
Maintain and keep inventory of recreation activities for the facility.
Plan and organize recreation activities for the facilities and help to monitor these activities.
Plan and oversee some life skill activities for the residents.
Stimulate client's interest and cooperation in various individual and group activities and programs through positive interaction and encouragement.
Complete clinical documentation on client's behavior. This includes behavioral reports and daily activities log as required.
Develop therapeutic skill methods and techniques focusing on social development as approved by the clinical team.
Lead and participate in recreation services with clients both individual and groups according to the facility resident calendar.
Teach and assist clients in activities of daily living.
Qualified candidates for Therapeutic Specialist includes the following:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or a related field.
Must be a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or has active plans to obtain certification.
Must have at least 1 year working experience in children's programs or residential setting.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to obtain certification for BLS and SAMSA verbal de-escalation certification within the first 30 days of hire.
