Job Description: Commercial Landscape Maintenance Team Lead
Perimeter Landscape is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Commercial Landscape Maintenance Team Lead. This role is essential to maintaining the high-quality standards that define our company while leading a team to success.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead and supervise a commercial landscape maintenance crew, ensuring all team members are performing their tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Display leadership skills, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive and productive work environment.
- Serve as a role model by being punctual, dependable, and professional at all times.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
Field Operations
- Operate and maintain equipment such as zero-turn mowers, string trimmers, mechanical edgers, backpack blowers, and sprayers.
- Mix and apply chemicals following safety guidelines and instructions.
- Perform accurate identification of turf types, trees, shrubs, plants, and potential irrigation issues.
- Conduct basic assessments and troubleshooting of sprinkler systems.
Quality and Safety
- Ensure high-quality results are delivered on all maintenance tasks.
- Meet deadlines on a job-by-job basis while maintaining attention to detail and adherence to company standards.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, ensuring all team members comply with safety procedures and regulations.
Administrative Duties
- Accurately complete and submit field worksheets and other necessary documentation.
- Communicate job progress, issues, and updates effectively with supervisors and team members.
Requirements:
Licenses & Documentation
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive a truck and trailer.
- Valid Social Security number and/or work permit.
Skills & Experience
- Proven field experience in commercial landscaping, with expertise in operating landscape equipment.
- Knowledge of plant care, turf types, irrigation systems, and chemical applications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.
- Dependable and punctual with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Leadership skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback, address conflicts, and inspire team performance.
