Perimeter Security Partners (“PSP”) is looking for a skilled civil engineer to augment our growing construction team. PSP designs, engineers, constructs, and maintains physical and electronic security systems for high-risk assets to serve governmental, commercial, and industrial customers worldwide. The next stage of PSP’s growth requires the addition of a detail-oriented, hands-on civil engineer to strengthen the PSP engineering team’s ability to support its internal and external customers. The project engineer will develop work plans for design-build construction projects, participate in the design and development of new products, collaborate with project management to solve field constructability challenges, and develop submittals for construction projects.
Duties
Duties are performed primarily in PSP’s Brentwood, TN office. Opportunity for occasional (< 5%) travel within the United States.

The next stage of PSP’s growth requires the addition of a detail-oriented, hands-on civil engineer to strengthen the PSP engineering team’s ability to support its internal and external customers. The project engineer will develop work plans for design-build construction projects, participate in the design and development of new products, collaborate with project management to solve field constructability challenges, and develop submittals for construction projects.
Duties
- Develop design-build construction drawing packages to include the following:
- Demolition and existing conditions.
- Civil site plans.
- Civil details.
- Foundation designs.
- Drainage plans.
- Temporary roadway design.
- Erosion and sediment control plans.
- Collaborate with other engineers to research and develop potential new proprietary products, including planning full-scale crash tests.
- Develop standard drawing details.
- Develop proprietary product documentation, including data sheets, shop drawings, O&M manuals, specifications, and installation manuals.
- Prepare material and equipment submittals.
- Develop threat paths and perform calculations for threat scenarios when designing security site plans.
- Liaise with vendors to ensure materials are delivered to specifications.
- Prepare site layouts and assist estimating with material take-offs from bid drawings.
- Collaborate with project managers, construction managers, and field technicians to develop modifications to construction drawings as required to adjust for site conditions.
- Conduct project site investigations to gather information on existing conditions, field measurements, and other items in support of design development.
- Prepare as-built drawings and closeout documents in conjunction with project managers and field personnel.
- Minimum of two years of experience in an engineering role.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
- High proficiency with AutoCAD required.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or structural engineering required.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills are important.
- Experience with Procore project management software or similar desired.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to sit at a computer workstation for several hours at a time.
