POSITION OVERVIEW
The Quality Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is located at the Post Falls, ID location. They are responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining required policies and procedures in support of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). Responsible for ensuring procedures are effective and support quality goals and objectives. Organizes and manages all resources assigned to the Quality department to include personnel, equipment and supplies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a certified QMS that ensures outgoing product quality levels meet customer, contract and other applicable specifications.
- Participate in quoting and planning processes to help determine customer requirements and plan necessary product realization activities.
- Improve reliability of new and existing product development processes.
- Review products, processes and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made.
- Oversee the product manufacturing process to ensure quality.
- Works with clients to ensure the final products meet their needs and requirements.
- Actively participate in production meetings with the manufacturing team.
- Facilitate communications between management and production departments.
- Perform QMS Management Representative duties and reports effectiveness of the QMS to members of top management during management review meetings.
- Establishes and maintains Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s), corrective actions and all records and documents required to assemble required project data books, as necessary.
- Plan for and coordinate employee training and skill development and handle disciplinary issues within the Quality Department.
- Manage cost and expenses and develop and implement process efficiencies where possible.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- High School graduate (or hold a state or military approved high school equivalency diploma). College graduate preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience working in a production environment and having a thorough understanding of fabrication processes and hazards associated with those processes.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory role where responsibilities included providing OJT training to subordinates, administering performance evaluations and providing disciplinary counseling when required.
- Experience working with a certified QMS such as ISO 9001, AS9100C, ASME, etc.
- Some familiarity with AWS D1.1, D1.2 welding codes.
- Must be able to read and interpret product drawings, applicable product specifications and applicable standards and regulations.
- ISO Internal Auditor training preferred.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication, presentation and organizational skills.
- Able to speak, read and write using English language
- Above average familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to prepare procedures and reports.
