Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasonographer to join our healthcare team (June 2025). The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing perinatal diagnostic ultrasound examinations, ensuring high-quality patient care while adhering to safety and aseptic techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, particularly in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology (Ob/Gyn). The Ultrasonographer will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic imaging.
Duties
- Perform ultrasound examinations on patients, including but not limited to Ob/Gyn procedures.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the imaging process.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
- Analyze images for quality and accuracy, providing preliminary findings to physicians.
- Maintain detailed records of examinations and patient interactions.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding procedures and results.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in sonography technology and techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sonography is preferred (experience in perinatal/MFM is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to diagnostic imaging.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to ultrasound procedures.
- Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Understanding of diagnostic radiology principles is an asset.
- Certification in ultrasound technology or relevant qualifications is required.
