The Opportunity:
Eastman offers a full time temporary paid internship for Human Resources or Business Management students and new graduates. Each summer we select one student who demonstrates a keen interest in human resources management or business management.
This role will sit on our NY Headquarters. The Human Resources Intern will be responsible for supporting the HR team. The student will have the opportunity to earn while they learn!
Our Human Resources Intern will report to the Human Resources Leadership and will support the HR team in all aspects of HR with a wide range of administrative projects covering orientation, compensation, benefits and performance management.
The HR Intern will leverage the acquired skills in school and apply them toward the HR professional fast paced setting. A tremendous opportunity for a vibrant student willing to learn and grow with professionals in the field.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the HR team with functions such as filing and onboarding
- Assist with HRIS projects and implementation
- Assist with the department internal portal page updates
- Assist with policy, payroll and benefits related projects
- Prepare various Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents
- Closely work with the Human Resources Assistant to achieve department goals and serve as a firm wide liaison to regional offices, if required
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled Undergraduate student or recent college graduate with course work or aptitude to work in Human Resources. Alternatively, a Business Management Degree or minimum of 3 years undergrad course work required
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Must be able to lift 15 to 20 pounds
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and search engines
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask assignments
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Possess excellent communication skills; communicates effectively by phone and in writing with all levels of staff
- Strong proficiency with the English language in speaking and writing
- Strong customer service commitment required
- Possess strong ethics and integrity
- Maturity and professionalism in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters
- Must be a team player and trustworthy
Type: Hybrid. 3 days in office 2 days working remotely, flexible days/working hours

Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, location and education and typical salary ranges from $23.00 per hour to $25.00 per hour.
