What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intervention Specialist position at Perkins Local School District?
Briar Middle School is seeking an Intervention Specialist to join our team of teacher-leaders. This position requires prospective candidates to have the following qualifications:
Valid Ohio teaching license and properly credentialed for the position.
Knowledge of middle-level State Standards
Experience with individualized instruction
Able to develop and implement IEPs with parents, teachers, and administrators.
Background in reading and math interventions
Collaborative skills to work with growth-minded, culture-first people.
Ability to build relationships with students in all school settings, including the classroom, lunchroom, recess, activity period, and hallways.
Support the school district's mission and vision for goals and outcomes.
Actively teach, learn, and interact with students during 50-minute periods.
Proficient with Apple and Google-based platforms and tools.
Conduct informal assessments (fluency, decoding, phonemic awareness, comprehension) and behavioral progress.
CPI Trained (recommended)
Basic Behavioral management skills
Understanding of the Science of Reading and Adolescent Literacy.
