Perkins Motor Company is a family-owned dealership that has been in the automotive industry for over 75 years. Located in Colorado Springs, Perkins Motors specializes in retail and wholesale automotive sales, service, and parts distribution. The Lube Technician is responsible for providing excellent customer service keeping in mind that our customer’s perspective comes first. This individual presents a friendly, professional attitude and helps identify, confirm, and offers resolution. This individual will find and communicates additional repair and service needs to the customer based on vehicle inspection.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Inject grease into universal joints, tie rods, ball joints and slip yokes using hand or compressed air powered grease gun.
- Inspect under hood fluids such as power steering fluid, brake fluid, coolant, washer fluid, differential(s) fluid, transmission fluid and transfer case fluids.
- Check air pressure in tires.
- Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants.
- Drain oil from crank case and refill with required amount of oil.
- Top off all fluids.
- Replace oil and air filters.
- Torque wheels to specification with approved torque wrench.
- Complete inspection sheet on each vehicle and give to the service advisor.
- Enter inspection sheet values into computer’s multipoint inspection form on each vehicle.
- Recommend proper vehicle maintenance and repair needed so ASM can properly advise customer needs.
- Meet Chrysler quick lane standards of 30 minutes or less
- Maintain Chrysler and Perkins Motors Training requirements
- Time punches all repair orders.
- Shuttle vehicles to any sublet facilities and return them to the dealership as required.
- Remove cars from the service drive and park them in designated areas.
- Move any “early bird customer vehicles to their respective areas.
- Assist technicians with bringing disabled vehicles into the shop work area.
- Assist porters in preparing vehicles for service work.
- Police and clean the service drive and shop lanes.
- Secure the service area at the end of the day.
- Keep the walkways free of snow and apply ice melt to traveled area as weather requires.
- Must attend all shop meetings as set by the Service Manager
- Maintain Perkins Corporate Purpose and Chryslers Customer Initiative.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge in all aspects of automobile repair and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 18 years or older
- Possess an acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license in state of residence
- A criminal history background check will be conducted prior to beginning employment
- Clear pre-employment drug screen
