What you can expect as our Technical Writer
As our Technical Writer, you will play a pivotal role in creating clear, accessible, and comprehensive documentation for technical projects across Perkins. You will work closely with subject matter experts to bridge complex technical concepts with user-friendly resources for both technical and non-technical audiences. Additionally, you will design, deploy, and maintain Perkins’ Knowledge Management System (KMS), ensuring it is well-organized, intuitive, and accessible to all users
- Collaborate with the CTO, department leads, stakeholders, and SMEs to gather information, understand processes, and identify documentation needs
- Design, deploy, and maintain an intuitive, user-friendly Knowledge Management System (KMS)
- Create and maintain user manuals, system documentation, installation guides, and other technical materials in clear and accessible formats
- Translate complex technical concepts into language suitable for diverse audiences
- Develop and enforce a consistent documentation framework and style guide to ensure clarity and uniformity
- Stay current on best practices in technical writing and incorporate user feedback to improve documentation quality
- Participate in workshops and training sessions to align documentation with end-user needs
- Serve as the Accessibility Champion for the KMS, ensuring the system meets accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG). Collaborate with the Perkins Digital Accessibility Team to address accessibility issues with vendors
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Proficiency with documentation tools and knowledge management systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and a commitment to creating inclusive conten
- Basic understanding of software development processes and IT infrastructure (preferred).
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field (equivalent experience considered)
- Proven experience as a technical writer or in a similar role.

Salary : $66,000 - $70,000
