What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Graphic Designer - Branded Environments position at Perkins+Will?
As a Branded Environments Designer II on the Perkins&Will team, your skills and passion will come to life through the following responsibilities:
- Uses enhanced knowledge of project complexity to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design.
- Exhibits understanding of branding concepts (including interior architecture, print graphics, environmental graphics, and signage and wayfinding) and their integration in the built environment.
- Provides design support to team members.
- Prepares design plans, design strategy, storytelling, color plans, and schedules.
- Develops plan diagrams, sections, and elevations.
- Manipulates basic design elements and applies principles of design such as form, scale, color, texture, pattern, balance, and proportion.
- Prepares presentation materials and models for client presentations.
- Participates in site analysis, including survey of existing conditions and field measurements.
- Uses a creative approach to complete tasks and responsibilities on projects, within the scope of schedule and budget, in an organized, timely, and consistent way.
- Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.
- Expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large.
- Takes increasing ownership on tasks within project teams and studio activities.
- Participates in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.
- Keeps open communication within team and with designated team leader.
- Communicates ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others.
- Coordinates effectively with partners and consultants.
What you've accomplished so far:
- A professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Graphic Design, Communication Design, or related discipline
- 3-5 years of experience
- Demonstrated competency and experience in all phases of Branded Environments design
- Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, PowerPoint, 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software; Revit strongly preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn
- Collaborative and professional work ethic
- LEED AP or within 6 months of hire
