Job Summary: As a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician at Perlon Hahl Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of our facility’s equipment. You will be responsible for maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repair, PLC programming, installation, and preventive maintenance of production machinery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance:
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and services on machines.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Install and configure new electrical systems and components, as well as upgrade existing systems.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, minimizing downtime and ensuring quick recovery.
- Order and install replacement parts as necessary.
- Installation and Upgrades:
- Install and upgrade electrical components to meet safety and efficiency standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes and regulations.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Conduct safety inspections and report any hazards or concerns.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and installations.
- Prepare reports documenting work performed and coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other maintenance and operations teams to support overall facility efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance to team members as needed.
- Confer with product managers regarding test results and make necessary modifications to machinery.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Clean and repair machinery, including disassembling and rebuilding equipment to restore to like-new condition.
- Weld, grind, cut, and fabricate metal parts as needed.
- Set up and operate metalworking tools like lathe, drill press, and milling machine.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an electrical apprenticeship program or technical school preferred.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in a similar industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs, including ladder logic, function block diagrams, and structured text.
- Mechanical inclination with problem-solving skills and the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail, safety commitment, and strong communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Capable of visually and/or manually inspecting machines.
- Able to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
