Exempt - This position is responsible for providing technical support of the analytical laboratories and operations at Perma-Fix of Florida, Inc. (PFF).
Duties
- Serve as technical resource as requested in support of nuclear and industrial processing and sampling activities in compliance with standard and project specific sampling and analysis plans, the facility RCRA permit, applicable regulations, and disposal facility waste acceptance criteria as well as special projects.
- Develop and implement protocols for sampling and analysis plans, bench tests, treatability studies, and R&D projects.
- Develop test protocols and perform bench tests on various waste forms to evaluate the effectiveness of existing treatment processes.
- Incorporate regulatory requirements, facility license and permit conditions, and disposal facility waste acceptance criteria into test plan objectives.
- Coordinate with marketing, treatment operations, and facility management to assess technology needs of PFF.
- Conduct research and development of new waste treatment technology.
- Participate in audits of the Perma-Fix of Florida, Inc. facility by regulatory agencies and PFF customers, as requested.
- Perform technical writing tasks including QA plans, analytical methods, and other lab procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
Typical climate-controlled laboratory. Work involves occupational exposure to hazardous chemicals and ionizing radiation within regulatory limits. Analytical instruments may be electrically powered, have moving parts, sharp edges or points, and components that operate at extreme temperatures.
