What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Control Technician position at Perma-Fix Environmental?
This position is responsible for ensuring all shipment paperwork is accurate and adheres to the facilities Radioactive Materials License and RCRA permit, as applicable. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
Duties
Include but are not limited to :
- Review all incoming customer shipment information to ensure adherence to the facilities Radioactive Materials License and RCRA permit, as applicable.
- Enter all applicable incoming shipment information into the Waste Tracking Database.
- Assist facility shipper with the development of shipment packages, as required.
- Perform routine audits of the storage areas to ensure tracking information is accurate; perform corrections as needed.
- Attend safety meetings and training, as required.
- Radiological safety training; 24hr Hazardous Materials Training required.
- Support other departments when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Primarily working in an office-type environment but occasionally working in an industrial-type work environment where hot and cold conditions could apply. Occasionally working outside in all weather conditions while performing field work. Facility / field work includes the potential for exposure to radiation, noise, dust, hot and cold temperatures, and chemicals.
