General Laborer

Position Title: Unskilled MT Grade A Tier 2 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Foreman Location: Lebanon, TN Approved by: Chris March POSITION SUMMARY: Adheres to production schedule, ensuring all parts are properly fitted, aligned and secured. Ensures safety and quality standards are always met. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Applying insulation Moving of materials Unloading and stock piling materials Stock piling and loading finished assemblies Painting by brush, roller, dip tank or other hand method Performing work as a stockroom assistant Plant clean-up Mechanical clean-up of pipe ends Operating power sweeper Operating small forklift: limited use as required for cleaning and rearranging materials PE pull-off helper Patching by brush (fusion bond) Lower load out helper WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/REPORTING: Reports to Foreman QUALIFICATION/ REQUIREMENT: General mechanical aptitude and ability is preferred. Previous experience in pipe manufacturing, fabrication, handling, coating and insulating helpful but not required. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED preferred. EXPERIENCE: Prior Manufacturing experience preferred SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: None TRAVEL: None EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Power sweeper, small forklift, paint brush, roller, dip tank PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary up to 10 pounds; light up to 20 pounds; medium up to 50 pounds regularly The ability to respond quickly to sounds The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations The ability to work in extreme weather The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned (i.e. general labor). MENTAL DEMANDS: Must handle diverse work problems on a daily basis. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. Must relate and interact with people at all levels in the Company. WORKING CONDITIONS: Subject to working both in cold and hot weather environments. Subject to noise and will require hearing protection. Includes variety of physical conditions, such as, proximity to moving parts, moving vehicles and exposure to high heat.
