Permanent Placements is seeking a Patent Associate with 2-3 years of experience for our highly regarded client for their Intellectual Property Practice Group in Austin, TX. This Associate will have the opportunity to work with clients (large and small) from a variety of industries across the country. The team has a dynamic and continually growing practice focused on a broad range of intellectual property matters. Job Requirements:
This position will support the IP Practice working on the strategic development, procurement, and counseling of patent portfolios. Applicants should have focused experience in the following areas:
- Drafting patent applications in the Computer Arts
- Software
- AI/ML/LLMs
- Web Applications
- Telecommunications
- Integrated Circuits
- etc.
- Prosecuting patent applications
- Candidates are required to be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark office.
- Candidates with a degree (required) or an advanced degree (plus) in:
- Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- Computer Engineering (preferred)
- Computer Science (preferred)
- Mechanical Engineering
- other relevant experience will also be considered.
- Strong experience drafting complex software patent applications is a plus but not required.
- Candidates must have excellent academic credentials
- Be comfortable working directly with clients
- Possess strong writing and analytical skills
