Description : JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The Financial Analyst provides accurate and data-based information on the company’s profitability, solvency, stability and liquidity for our Ready Mix / Aggregates and corporate divisions.
Functional Responsibilities
Ø Exhibit a strong work ethic with the ability to take direction and work in a team setting and independently.
Ø Adhere to Permian Basin Materials Code of Conduct and company policies.
Ø Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and presentations. Work closely with our Managers to explain monthly, YTD business activity, and significant variances to budget.
Ø Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts, etc.) considering the company’s goals and financial standing.
Ø Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
Ø Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking, and process analysis.
Ø Conduct business studies on past, future, and comparative performance and develop forecast models.
Ø Identify trends, advise company, and recommend actions to the FP&A Manager based on sound analysis.
Ø Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts.
Ø Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.
Ø Develop short-term and long-term financial forecasts and projections.
Ø Assist Operations in developing capital expenditure requests, including returns on investment, payback, and monthly reporting, etc.
Ø Assist with lender reporting requirements.
Ø Consult with management to guide and influence long-term and strategic decision making within the broadest scope.
Ø Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that affect the company.
Ø Provide support and guidance to our managers to assist in analyzing and understanding financial reports.
Ø Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Competencies
Ø Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management as well as with professional staff and personnel outside of the organization.
Ø Knowledge of balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow statements
Ø Computer literate particularly in Microsoft Office applications including excellent Excel skills in pivot tables, v lookups, and financial modeling.

EXPERIENCE / TRAINING / CERTIFICATIONS
Ø Proven working experience or training / education as a financial analyst
Ø Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications
Ø Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
Ø Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis
Ø Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market and business environments
Ø Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA or CMA a plus
Ø Must be willing to travel to operations facilities to provide financial training and support.
Requirements :
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Ø Candidate must be drug free.
Ø Must be able to :
o Lift or carry up to 20 pounds from floor to 3’ – 5’ occasionally,
o Lift or carry less than 10 pounds frequently (documents, supplies, small office machinery),
o Sit for extended periods of time with occasional walking and standing,
o Use hands and fingers to operate computers and other office machinery,
o Effectively communicate in verbal and written formats with internal and external personnel, clients, and vendors,
