What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMI Operator position at Permian Enterprises, Ltd?
Permian Enterprises, Ltd is seeking an EMI Operator at our Odessa, TX location.
The EMI Operator will be performing calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results. EMI Operators are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. EMI Inspectors are thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method of NDT being used and should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistants and Level I Inspectors. EMI Inspectors organize, and report results of NDT.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:
- Maintain proper dress code for task at hand
- Maintain Annual OSHA and NDT Method certifications as directed.
- Wear proper PPE for tasks performed.
- Maintain Awareness for safety hazards
- Set up equipment
- Clean tools to be inspected (i.e. Buffing, Scrubbing, Pressure Washing, etc.)
- Apply penetrant and developer/Use of Dye Block/Temps and Dwell Times
- Perfect technique of buffing, flapping, wheeling, etc.
- Fill out inspection reports and tickets
- Assist in maintaining equipment (grinders, buffers, pressure washers, etc.)
- Assist in maintaining inventory for jobs
- Clean work area after completing job and/or at end of every shift
- Familiarize oneself with SOP (MT and PT procedures) and DS1.
- Perform process controls (ex. bath strength, light intensity etc.)
- Maintain Color Codes
- Conduct refacing when appropriate
- Respond to Job Order in prompt fashion.
- Delegate to and monitor Level I team members' activities and training
- Monitor and continuously improve Job response time
- Advise inspectors to include all information on invoices
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary: Lifting 10 # maximum, occasionally lifting and/or carrying articles such as dockets, ledgers, small tools; walking and standing required occasionally.
- Light: Lifting 20 # maximum, frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 #; walking and/or standing required frequently. 75 % of the time.
- Medium: Lifting 50 # maximum, frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects up to 20 #; unrestricted walking and standing. 20 % of the time.
- Heavy: Lifting 100 # maximum, frequent lifting and/or carrying of up to 50 #; unrestricted walking and standing. 5% of the time.
- Very Heavy: Lifting greater than 100 #, either mechanically or with manual assistance occasionally with frequent lifting and/or carrying up to 50 #; unrestricted walking and standing. 30 % of the time
