Accounting Lead - Revenue Accural

Job Description

Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking an Accounting Lead reporting to the Accounting Manager in Midland, Texas. This position will be responsible for the below responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical as well as communication skills and be able to contribute his/her expertise while working on multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

General Responsibilities

• Review preliminary month end results in preparation of accrual journal entries
• Perform monthly close activities and accrual journal entries
• Perform monthly analysis of actuals vs estimates and author monthly explanations around trends
• Prepare monthly analysis around Gather, Processing and Transportation costs
• Prepare analysis for monthly key metrics for management team
• Identify trends and fluctuations in Revenue prices and volumes Look for efficiencies and gaps to create new processes and/or controls
• Establish and maintain a strong relationship with Revenue Accounting, Marketing, Production Accounting, Reporting Team, and management in order to facilitate accrual preparations and analysis
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of key revenue related GL accounts
• Assist in budget and forecasting process including quarter end close and reconciliations
• Develop new reports, as needed, to assist in preparation for the revenue management meetings or data analysis
• Provide support for special projects and perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel and Word)
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently
• Superior ability to prioritize activities and meet all deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must possess a strong work ethic and demonstrate a positive/flexible attitude in a fast-paced work environment'
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred 10 years of experience in oil and gas revenue accounting
• Quorum accounting software experience, preferred but not required
