What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Painter position at PermianLide?
This is a full time position located in Troy, TX. 1-3 years' experience as an Industrial Painter capable of doing everything in the paint industry. Local applicants only please, this is not a per diem paid position.
Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primer as needed to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality.
- Paint Application: Apply paint or coating materials using various methods such as spraying, rolling, or brushing, while adhering to specifications regarding thickness, coverage, and appearance.
- Color Matching: Mix paint colors to match specified requirements, using color charts, formulas, or computerized color matching systems.
- Quality Control: Inspect painted surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards, including proper coverage, finish texture, and adherence to specifications.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain painting equipment, including spray guns, brushes, rollers, and mixing equipment, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and adhere to hazardous material handling guidelines.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate work activities, prioritize tasks, and meet production deadlines effectively.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an industrial painter or in a related field, with proficiency in surface preparation, paint application, and equipment operation.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of painting techniques, materials, and equipment, including knowledge of different types of paints, coatings, and surface treatments.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship. Ability to follow instructions and specifications accurately.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to work in various weather conditions and environments.
- Safety Consciousness: Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for handling paints, solvents, and other hazardous materials. Prior experience working with respiratory protection and other PPE preferred.
- Reliability: Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet production demands.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with coworkers, supervisors, and clients professionally and courteously.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional vocational training or certifications in painting, coatings, or industrial maintenance preferred.
