Textile Product Designer

Design seating and positioning product covers and othertextile products to meet the needs of end users as well as both internal andexternal customers. Generate product concepts and prototypes, create sewing patterns,and coordinate the creation of drawings with design engineers. Provide support toGroup Sourcing and Production Units in design transfer of the textile designs,workmanship standards and maintenance of legacy textile products.
SUPPORTS NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT BY :
Working with the product management / marketing and designteams to create initial product concepts, refine those concepts and developprototypes for formative evaluation. Advance the concept design and includeaspects of aesthetics, product assembly and use. Coordinate materials selectionwith multiple departments including R&D, Scientific and Medical Affairs,and Commercial Product Management.
SUPPORTS EXISTING TEXTILE PRODUCTS BY :
Working with product development, sourcing and productionpersonnel to address any challenges and opportunities for improvement as theyarise, whether it be related to design, materials, or quality.
Maintains accurate documentation by :
Following all document control procedures as specified by qualityor regulatory requirements; collecting, recording, and maintaining laboratorydata; ensuring data is clearly identified, easy to retrieve, and organized forease of analysis.
Analyzes and reports PRODUCT TESTING findings BY :
Analyzing feedback provided on textile designs to generateinsights and make decisions; reporting results in a meaningful way includingdata, graphs, images and summaries as appropriate; communicating results asrequested by Product Development and other groups via email and narratives,reports, and in-person presentation in product / project meetings.
Requirements :
High School diploma or GED required.
5 years sewing experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and / or other employees of the organization.
Optitex Experience (or equivalent) a plus
