Candidate Profile:JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
Active Bar Admission in any US state, in good standing.
2 years of substantive experience in partnership tax, and experience in federal income tax credits is ideal.
An LL.M. in Taxation is strongly preferred.
An Undergraduate degree in Accounting is also preferred.
Strong technical knowledge of tax structuring, compliance, and transactional matters related to affordable housing and tax credit financing.
Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills, with keen attention to detail and follow-through.
Advise clients on complex tax matters related to affordable housing developments, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Historic Tax Credits (HTC), and New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC).
Structure, negotiate, and document tax-related aspects of real estate transactions, including partnership agreements, syndications, and financing arrangements.
Conduct tax research and analysis to guide clients through compliance and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with other practice groups, including real estate, corporate, and finance attorneys, to ensure comprehensive client service.
Engage in direct client interaction and support business development initiatives within the tax credit and affordable housing sector.
