POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor monitors and supervises all related areas of the production department as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Enforce all company policies and procedures
- Maintain an efficient and productive line of cooperation and communication with other departments and support group
- Prepare all paperwork required in a neat, legible and timely manner
- Report all employee absences, tardiness, accidents; company rules infractions or job performance problems to the Operation Manager or Personnel Office as assigned. Report mechanical problems immediately to the maintenance department
- Train an assistant to assume all related duties for days off, illness, vacation or out of plant work days
- Meet and maintain company objectives and efficiency standards for:
- Overtime
- Yield
- Safety
- Quality
- Sanitation
- Waste
- Customer specification
- Maintain a high level of moral in the production room by:
- Treating employees with respect and addressing them by name
- Refraining from using harsh language
- Being fair and impartial when making judgments
- Recognizing employee achievements
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Frequently to constantly standing, walking
- Occasionally to frequently bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling climbing
- Occasionally carrying products 5 pounds to 50 pounds
- Occasionally to frequently repetitive hand motions (i.e., writing)
- High degree of pressure to meet production schedules
- Constant exposure to product fumes such as onions, peppers, etc.
- Exposure to chemicals such as chlorine etc.
- Constant exposures to varying degree of temperature 45 degrees or less.
- Works overtime as required
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Possess verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in fresh food or production environment
- Must have own transportation
- Must have a working knowledge of English language
- Basic Mathematical abilities
- Ability to interact across departments
- Ability to train staff on safety requirements and enforce safety requirements
