Job Overview & Conditions
Oils, dust, debris, and other contaminants cause inefficiencies in heat exchangers and reduce heat transfer, leading to increased costs at refineries-this position exists to oversee the cleaning of tube exteriors (fin fan) that make up heat exchangers to remove these impurities and help to improve equipment efficiency.
Working conditions are outside in a manufacturing / industrial environment. Work involves lifting of materials and / or product up to 50 pounds; operators use commercial hoses to clean the top / bottom of fin fans or as directed with foam application. Operations requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; FR Clothing eye safety goggles, steel-toed work boots, hardhats, and gloves.
Work will be executed in the field for campaigns. Standard campaign shifts are 12-14-hour workdays, 7 days a week until the campaign is complete, and all demobilization / logistics are complete. Company policy is to take the 14th day of work as a day of rest.
This is a project-based, variable hour position. Training begins in February with project work expected between March and September. Little to no work expected from October - January.
Duties and Responsibilities
Effectively oversee & manage the FA trailer & team by ensuring all personnel & equipment are serviceable / ready to perform
Effectively oversee & manage the FA process : using commercial hoses to apply a cleaning solution to tube exteriors (top / bottom of fin fans) or as directed to remove all of all the debris and contaminants etc.
Able to effectively talk on radios to communicate with refinery operations, maintenance, and their assigned team to provide standardized reports to management, resolve issues or conflicts, or coordinate additional support
Collect all required data and relay to reporting team to track progress & any issues present daily
Analyze information collected to provide recommendations and feedback to company Manager and refinery POCs daily
Observe team on site to ensure control of quality of service & safety and company standards / policies are being followed at all times
Provide real time training to all team members throughout campaigns (core competency, team-work etc.)
Assist / direct FAS Leads and teams to resolve challenges while on campaigns
Perform campaign onboarding meetings with Lead FAS and FAS operators
Perform site walks to assess equipment health and performance with both current and prospective customers
Provide direct feedback to Lead FAS and FAS operators, conducting reviews scheduled by company management
Ensure all FAS team travel & supporting requirements are completed in a timely manner
Adhere to all company & customer policies and guidelines at all times
Completion of other tasks in a timely manner as assigned by direct Supervisor

Requirements
Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test and have a DISA Background rating of 2 or less
Must be at least 21 years of age
Valid Driver's License / Identification / valid US documentation supporting your ability to work in the US
Must be able to lift greater than 50lbs
Criminal Background history must pass all refinery requirements
Must be able to pass English Competency Test
Drug test required; Report to all required drug and alcohol testing appointments within 24 hours of notification
This position may require 150 overnights per year. Most travel will be to support project campaigns in the field and planning events.
