Job Overview
Ability to measure, saw (metal materials), verify cuts made, package per customer specifications, drive a forklift, and operate an operate overhead crane.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Adheres to all Company safety requirements
- Use tape measure to very quickly determine material length, width, and depth to calculate necessary cuts in both English and Metric measurements
- Use basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication & division) to determine how much of metal to cut
- Be able to convert fractions to decimals very quickly (i.e. 1 / 4 = 0.25)
- Use a scale to determine weight of material
- Achieve scheduled times directed by the Production Plan and Heat Treat Manager
- Use hand tools and equipment to correct any orders that are salvageable (i.e. using grinder to correct miscuts)
- Must be organized, tidy, and comply with company protocol
- Must meet individual productivity measurements in both quality and tracking on-time delivery.
- Ensure safety on the shop floor and shop appearance.
- Operate saw, forklift, overhead crane, and packing equipment.
- Be familiar with tracking serial numbers and be able to do so without error; computer literacy is a plus
- Assist other processes as required or as directed by Supervisor
