Forklift Operator / Yard Driver (3rd Shift)

Description

Perricone Farms, a leading citrus juice supplier located in Beaumont, CA, is seeking a Forklift Operator / Yard Driver to join our team. This is fast-paced position which offers long-term, consistent employment with a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to Health, Vision, Dental, Life and 401K.

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour $2 Differential

Shift / Hours: 3rd Shift; Monday - Friday @ 11:00pm to 7:30am, possible weekend work (If needed))

Summary of Functions:

As a Forklift Operator / Yard Driver, you will be responsible for providing forklift and yard driving support to all departments by performing the following duties:

• Operate a sit-down forklift within the plant, navigating tight spaces, moving pallets, and working both indoors and outdoors.
• Unload trailers with fruit bins upon arrival.
• Organize products in the east lot for easy identification and processing.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailer, checking for maintenance issues, safety hazards or any damage.
• Supply bins, tri-walls, or boxes of fruit to the grading line for extraction.
• Load and unload products onto trailers for vendor pick-up.
• Transport both empty and full drums to the conveyor at the drum fill station.
• Transporting trailers on premise within a designated area.
• Responsible for hooking up and unhooking trailers from tractors, ensuring that trailers are securely attached before moving them
• Maintaining yard order
• Move drums to the conveyor at the drum chopper station.
• Provide additional forklift services to various departments as required.
• Keep track of inventory, including bins, tri-walls, and loads on-site.
• Communicate with warehouse personnel, dispatchers, or supervisors to coordinate the movement of goods, ensuring timely processing.
• Ensuring that trailers are moved and positioned in a timely manner to meet loading and unloading schedules. 
• While moving trailers around the on the yard, you may need to log trailer movements, report any maintenance needs, or track inventory related to trailer movements.

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:

• Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
• Responsible for Non-GMO SGS Supply Chain Standards.

• Position reports to Operation Manager

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Forklift and Pallet Jack certification.
• Spanish is a plus.
