Perrigo Nutritionals, in Georgia, VT is looking to train several new Production Operators for their Manufacturing team in various capacities.
Shifts Available
Days: 6am-6pm ET on a repeating 2-2-3 schedule (Week A: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat; Week B: Sun, Weds, Thurs)
Nights: 6pm - 6am ET on a repeating 2-2-3 schedule (Week A: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat; Week B: Sun, Weds, Thurs)
*All shifts require availability for potential off-shift, weekend, and/or holiday coverage depending on changing business needs.
Compensation
These positions start at $25/hour (plus a 15% shift premium for Night shift) and could increase depending on relevant experience.
Scope of Available Production Roles:
Liquefying Operators
Dispense dry ingredients for liquification, adding vitamins and minerals to solution. Sets-up equipment for dispensing, monitoring, operating, and cleaning all liquefying equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Reads orders and retrieve dry ingredients from Warehouse and Micro Ingredient Dispensing Unit (MIDU).
- Operates forklift equipment.
- Routinely lifts and dispenses 55lb. bags of dry ingredients into liquefiers.
- Operates and cleans liquefying equipment and areas on both the dry and wet processing areas.
- Cleans equipment used for processing and set-up of the area, including mopping and washing walls/outer equipment.
- Performs all duties assigned in accordance with Standard Operating Instructions (SOPs) and Work Instructions.
- Provides accurate & complete documentation and follows detailed procedures and manufacturing order instructions.
- Operate and navigate computer and various applications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Process Operators
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of and ability to operate all process area equipment in a safe and efficient manner, including the liquefying area. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Operating and understanding of all processing equipment
- Operating and understanding of all liquefying equipment
- Performs general housekeeping and cleans processing equipment and areas.
- Operates a drum dolly and other tools (wrenches, screw drivers, etc.).
- Troubleshooting issues in processing
- Assists with Clean in Place (CIP) activities.
- Provides assistance with fat blend manufacture as required.
- Provides assistance with liquid receiving and shipping.
- Provides accurate & complete documentation and follows detailed procedures and manufacturing order instructions.
- Assists dryer floor when needed.
- Operate and navigate computer and various systems & applications.
- Other duties as assigned
Dryer Operators
Provide dryer support in preparing clean all dryers and associated production equipment. Works with supervision to monitor the operation of the production equipment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Stork Dryer System
- Operate the Dryer and Evaporator, and Associated Equipment
- CIP the Dryer and Evaporator
- Clean all Associated Equipment and Lines
- Trouble Shoots Problems
- Performs In-Process Testing on Product
Marriott Walker Dryer System
- Operates the Dryer and Evaporator, and Associated Equipment
- CIP the Dryer and Evaporator
- Clean all Associated Lines and Equipment
- Trouble Shoots Problems
- Performs In-Process Testing on Product
Agglomerator System
- Operates the Agglomerator and Associated Equipment
- Clean all Associated Lines and Equipment
- Trouble Shoots Problems
- Performs In-Process Testing on Product
Other Duties As Assigned
- Area Cleaning
- Dryer Floor Assistance
- Other duties as assigned
Experience Required:
- 1 year of experience in a production role within a manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions.
- Ability to perform duties in a safe, efficient and sanitary manner.
- Ability to operate and navigate computer and various systems & applications, such as SAP
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of GMP's and food allergens.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, a commitment to quality, problem solving skills, dependability, and attention to detail.
- Must be well organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work individually as well as with others as a team at all levels.
Position Physical Requirements
- This position requires bending, stooping, and repetitive lifting up to 55 lbs. Occasional push/pull of 70 lbs. Standing, walking for 10 hours of shift.
- Incumbent will be exposed to noise, cold temperatures (40°), warm temperatures (110°), strenuous physical activity, working at heights and/or in confined spaces.
- Candidate must be able to wear all required and necessary safety equipment and garments.
- Work from ladders, scaffolding and staging is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week
