Perry County Economic Development Authority Executive Director
Position overview: The ED manages day to day operations of PCEDA and its projects. They will work with PCEDA Board to develop and implement strategic plans and operational projects that serve the mission of PCEDA.
Experience and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in economic or community development or related experience
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience with focus on planning, communication, fundraising and development
- Ability to work independently to generate internal and external communication with a broad range of stakeholders, board members and representatives in government and private sectors.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain oversight and coordinate many moving pieces.
Job responsibilities:
- Build a network of grant funding sources sufficient to sustain and grow PCEDA and its projects.
- Build relationships in county and region to benefit the PCEDA mission.
- Make presentations to local and regional groups.
- Works with board to set strategic plans and success metrics for PCEDA mission activities, including revitalization activities; business attraction, retention and expansion; tourism promotion and resident quality of life enhancement. Research and analyze projects and programs for local fit and sustainability, including laws, regulations, taxes, etc.
- Supervises PCEDA staff and all hired work including consultants and professional services.
- Manage and oversee the Perry County Hometowns project and staff. Manage application, participation and reporting to PA Downtown Center and Main Street program.
- Work with community partners on grant writing, special events and economic development projects.
- Promote the county as a desirable place to live, work and play to internal and external audiences. Develop and distribute marketing material via email, social media, and other media as applicable.
- Works with regional economic development partners, including applying, executing, and tracking grant activities for statewide and regional projects such as PREP and Engage!
- Respond to development proposals, develop site spec sheets, and maintain resource database for county assets.
- Prepare and manage annual operating budget and project budgets.
- Handles annual reporting, statutory requirements, and audits.
- Works with local school districts and work force organizations to maximize skilled labor pipeline for business.
