What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMT-B (PRN) position at Perry County Memorial Hospital?
Education:High school diploma or equivalency. Completion of an accredited EMT program. Due to frequent regulatory/certification/accreditation changes, continued education through seminars and workshops may be required. Continued education must comply with the state requirements to maintain a valid certification.
Licensure/Certification:Must have current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician in the State of Indiana. Must maintain current certification in BLS Healthcare CPR. Must provide copies of licensure/certification for personnel records including renewals.
Experience:Experience is preferred. Job-specific training is provided through a preceptorship program of a minimum of 80 hours, or longer at the discretion of the EMS Director.
Mental & Physical Effort:Requires alertness and skill to recognize symptoms and good judgment to select proper treatment for unusual and/or unfavorable conditions. Requires resourcefulness in emergency situations and ability to make independent decisions in regard to patient care. Requires occasional periods of physical exertion and stamina to work effectively under adverse conditions. Requires use of appropriate body mechanics when lifting and transferring patients or equipment.
