We are looking for an Associate Designer to join our Perry Ellis Collection team in NYC!
Summary
We are looking to hire a well-organized, highly creative and enthusiastic designer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for designing and supporting the Perry Ellis men’s knits and sweaters team in seasonal developments. The Associate Designer is responsible for participating in all phases of the design development process from initial concept to production. The right candidate should be proactive in their approach and is hard working.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the Designer for Perry Ellis Collection knits and sweaters assortment
Responsible for administration and follow up of product design process to include preparation of technical packages and seasonal presentation boards, understanding of PLM process, email correspondence, etc.
Responsible for color CADS of fabric and styles.
Assist in creation of products, fabric developments
Make revisions to sketches and design packages as needed.
Research and analyze the market for trends
Work closely with merchandising, product developer, and sourcing to make sure that the team is on calendar
Responsible for maintaining design presentation boards
Responsible for creating inspiration boards, mini boards for sales tools, etc.
Skills
Ability to learn how to design through technology (e.g., illustrator and photoshop, Ned Graphics, 3D software and PLM)
Superior color and taste level
High level of creativity with a passion for design men's knits and sweaters
Strong organizational, time management and communication skills
Ability to multitask and design around concepts
Proficient with Google Applications or related software
Requirements
Bachelor degree(B.A) from a college or university, major in Design
Minimum 2 year design experience preferred in knits and sweaters design
