Job Summary :
The Controller is responsible for overseeing accounting operations of the company. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of generally accepted account principles and regulations. The Director will lead an accounting team, ensure financial accuracy, and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee accounting functions including general ledger accounting, fixed assets, retail accounting, and tax compliance.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Monthly filing of sales tax and escheat returns.
- Assist with the year end audit, as well as, any regulatory audits.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant tax regulations.
- Manage and develop the accounting team.
- Provide financial support to other departments as needed.
- Assist in the implementation of systems associated with their functional areas.
