- Embodies high ethical standards/integrity. Accepts responsibility for personal decisions/conduct.
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) or similar training may be required for some assignments.
Essential
Functions: · Coordinates planning, delivery and advancement of special education services consistent with
the district mission and legal requirements. Helps implement a shared vision of learning that
supports continuous measurable improvements in student growth and achievement.
- Advocates for students.
- Serves as District Representative at IEP meetings.
- Efficiently manages concurrent responsibilities. Prioritizes assigned tasks. Develops effective
- Facilitates program compliance with all pertinent local, state and federal laws.
- Tracks data required by the district, Ohio Department of Education and other regulatory
- Helps select highly-qualified program staff. Assists with orientation activities for new program
- Works with administrators/supervisors to align special education practices with district goals.
- Participates in collaborative planning of staff development programs.
- Disseminates program materials. Responds promptly to requests for information.
- Collects and analyzes student information as it relates to IEPs.
- Helps staff prepare Section 504 Plans and IEPs.
- Collaboratively resolves problems that impede student learning. Helps staff identify teaching
- Facilitates/supports the least restrictive environment for the placement of students with
- Works with staff to monitor IEP efficacy. Recommends improvements as needed.
