We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Perry Pharmacy. In this role, you will assist our pharmacists in delivering high-quality care to our patients by ensuring accurate medication dispensing, record-keeping, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of pharmacy practices, be detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the pharmacist in dispensing medications and maintaining accurate medication records.
- Prepare and package medications for distribution to patients.
- Manage inventory, stock medications, and ensure proper storage within the pharmacy.
- Enter patient information and prescriptions into the computer system accurately.
- Provide excellent customer service to both patients and healthcare professionals.
- Answer phone calls and address inquiries or concerns from patients, caregivers, or healthcare providers.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in the administration of medications, including inhalation therapies, under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Ensure adherence to all pharmacy practices and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant post-secondary education or training is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy practices.
- Previous experience in a hospital or critical care setting is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate well with colleagues and patients.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation, record-keeping, and medication dispensing.
- Experience with acute care pharmacy operations is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
