Dog Groomer

Perrysburg Pet Lodge & Spa is a full-service high quality pet care facility. We are located at 399 West Boundary in Perrysburg, Ohio. We are looking for a talented, hardworking and honest individual who has a passion for animals and is a team player. You must love dogs and cats and be dedicated to their care, well-being and overall happiness. Safety and excellent customer service is our number one priority.

EXPERIENCE / JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Previous grooming/bathing experience required
• Knowledge and skills in controlling and/or handling tempermental animals
• Knowledge of grooming practices for a wide range of small and large dog breeds including hand-scissoring skills
• Patience and attention to detail as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical Effort: Frequently required to bend, stand, stoop, stretch, walk, sit, talk and listen. Frequently use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel. Frequently lifting and/or restraining large dogs.

• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignment
• Understand and carry out oral and written direction
• Perform grooming services, including bathe, brush, nail clipping, hand scissoring, anal gland expression and breed specific hair cuts
• Must understand grooming techniques, styles and owners’ instructions as well as correctly identify breeds, coat types, tools, uses, and techniques
• Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain
• We do not breed discriminate and you will need to be comfortable with all dogs, cats and their families
• Can work unaffected in an environment where dogs are barking
• Ability to place a dog on a grooming table

Pay: $500.00 - $800.00 per week
