At Pershing General Hospital & Nursing Home, our mission is to be the first-choice provider for our community's health needs. We work tirelessly to provide excellent healthcare in our 13-bed critical access hospital, 25-bed long-term care facility, and rural health clinic.
Pershing General Hospital is looking to hire an Activities Assistant for our Long-Term Care department. Applicants are required to possess an active and unencumbered Nevada Certified Nursing Assistant license.

Essential Functions
- Assists in the development and implementation of programs and activities which enrich the lives of our residents.
- Develops and leads small, medium, and large group activities and in accordance with each resident’s plan of care.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all departments of the facility.
- Conducts one-on-one programs such as delivering and reading mail as requested by the supervisor.
- Works with and assists in work direction of volunteers.
- Transports residents for outings and medical appointments as requested.
- Proactively encourages and supports resident rights.
- Prepares rooms, equipment, and supplies prior to each program and cleans up following each program.
- Assists with the development of the monthly activities calendar including providing creative input, ideas, and suggestions for volunteer recruitment.
- Maintains a safe activities environment by using appropriate risk management, preventive maintenance, cleaning, and storage.
- Encourages resident and family participation in activities.
- Assists Certified Activities Professional in evaluation of effectiveness of program, individual needs, and participation levels of each resident.
- Participates in department and hospital level quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
