About the Role:
Persi Homes is actively seeking a dynamic Hands-On General Foreman with extensive experience in residential construction. This individual will not only manage but also directly engage in a variety of construction tasks including framing, foundation, drywall, basic electrical and plumbing operations, stucco repair, and window and door installations. The ideal candidate is someone who leads by example and is willing to get their hands dirty alongside their team to deliver top-quality workmanship on every project.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in and oversee all construction activities on the worksite, ensuring successful project execution from start to finish.
- Perform hands-on construction tasks such as framing, foundation, drywall installation, minor electrical and plumbing work, stucco repair, and the fitting of windows and doors.
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Monitor progress and quality of work
- Review project plans and specifications
- Prepare project estimates and budgets
- Communicate with clients, architects, and engineers
- Enforce safety regulations and OSHA compliance on job sites
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during construction
- Coordinate and supervise the operations of the construction crew, directly involving yourself in everyday tasks and working collaboratively to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, conducting on-site training and enforcing safety measures among all team members.
- Manage materials and equipment procurement, ensuring resources are utilized effectively and waste is minimized.
- Conduct quality checks on work performed, providing immediate, on-the-job feedback, and taking corrective action when necessary.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers, offering technical insight and practical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve site issues.
- Communicate with upper management, reporting progress updates and articulating any resources needs or potential challenges.
- Foster a culture of excellence, mentoring construction workers to enhance their skills and promote career development.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or a related field
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and contract management
- Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and safety protocols in construction
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven hands-on experience in construction, particularly in the areas of framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, stucco, and installation work.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents, blueprints, and plans.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively teach, motivate, and manage construction teams.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards in all work performed.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to perform well under time constraints and adapt to changing project demands.
