Direct Support Professionals are responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall care of the individual who resides in their own home. Our Direct Support Professionals help the individuals we support with activities of daily living, fostering independence, and facilitating community experiences and activities.
Available Shift:
- Thursday 8a - 5p and 5p - 8a
- Friday 8a -5p and 5p - 9a
- Saturday 9a - 5p
- Sunday 8a - 5p

Responsibilities:
- Establish a secure, positive environment that nurtures the individual’s needs, self-expression, and goals
- Ensuring the individual’s home is organized according to their needs and that safety measures are in place. You may also be expected to assist the individual with some light housework
- Providing emotional support and encouragement to foster independence
- Assisting with personal care, including some bathroom functions grooming, and dressing
- Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavior, and needs
- Promoting independence in daily activities, such as work, learning, and leisure
- Maintaining knowledge of the individual’s requirements
- Support growth and development through various ranges of activities
- Participate in the Annual Planning Meeting to help the individual towards growth and development
- Complying with Person Centered Care’s policies and procedures
- Participate in annual specialized training to best support the individual’s needs
- Complete professional development hours as directed by Person Centered Care
- Maintaining documentation in compliance with Person Centered Care’s procedures
- Document daily tasks in the activity log
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to complete and pass background check and drug screening
- High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification that meets the ECC Guidelines
- Valid driver’s license, own reliable vehicle, and excellent driving record
- Prior experience in the area of social service or life experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Comfortable with assisting individuals with activities of daily living
- Outstanding time management, organizational, and people skills
