Summary Objective
Person County Government is recruiting for a Social Worker III for the Department of Social Services within the Adult and Family Services Unit. The Adult Care Home Specialist & Guardianship Designee ensures that adult care homes operate in compliance with applicable regulations and laws through ongoing planning, supervision, and consultation. This role is vital in promoting safe, high-quality care and exceeding minimum operational standards for homes ranging from small family care homes to large facilities housing up to 80 or more residents with various disabilities.
As part of this role, the employee serves as the Guardianship designee for individuals adjudicated incompetent, acting on behalf of the DSS Director. Additionally, the position provides Adult Day Care Consultation/Monitoring and Adult Day Care Case Management Services to support aging, disabled, and handicapped adults at risk of institutionalization. These services help individuals maintain independence and remain in the community.

The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.
This is a non-exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work;
- Master's degree in a human services field and one year of directly related experience;
- Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience;
- Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience;
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience
